Canopy power lift

Hey Guys,

I'm thinking of building a power lift for a canopy.
It's going to be for my new 57g tank.
Does any one have any recommendations for linear actuators and tracks/rail/guides?
Something that doesn't look awful. Tank is in the living room.

Thanks,
Roberto.

So pushing the entire canopy up? To do that correctly you have to buy the actuators and tracks.. guess what, I have 20" (?) linear actuators with two tracks, brand new. PM me

Search our forum, I have a thread with pics. LIght Rack is the title IIRC

Looks like mine are a 10" throw? I swear they had a longer throw. I'll go check on my way home.

I may give up on the idea of pushing up and do just like Ian did.
I probably need to craft a box like he did to hide the mechanical stuff inside of it.
In that case, I can probably use 10" throw with a pulley system to double the elevation and achieve 20".

Check out Firgelli http://www.firgelliauto.com/ They have the widest and best priced selection around. I use a pair of their 400 lbs 30" stroke ones to life the shed roof on my 900g water change tank. The tank is off the side of my fish tank shed outdoors. I enclosed them from the elements and they been working great for 3 years now with no maintenance.
