got ethical husbandry?

Electrical wiring for portable inverter generator - will this work or i'm playing russian roulette?

I’m no electrician, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt, but they make male power inlets. I’ve seen 15-, 20-, and 50-amp inlet available. I’m sure you could find a 30A as well.

Something like that would probably work well than would only need a short cord generator to that, and run from the box that is in to the inside box.

And already has the weather proof covering.

I would personally very strongly consider this one. The link also shows it in from all angles and inside a box.

thanks all. I called the county permit center and they said no permit is required. However they won't say that in writing, unless i pay the permit fees and start the permit process. Oh well.

Short of it is i don;t think this is worth the hassle. I read on on using the massive battery (~100kwh combined) in the 2 EV as the backup for the fish tank. Seems vey doable especially I'm just hoping to pull 250W . Bought a 500W pure sine-wave inverter and will try it out this weekend.

Easy is often better .
In the event of a power outage just run a dang extension cord for fridge, if you need to use one I doubt you will care about the cord when it comes down to saving your food.
 
I got this transfer switch for $300 and DIY installed it in a couple hours. It wasn't hard but that's relative to your skill comfort on working with electricity. There's a bunch of YouTube tutorials for this exact model.
