Quick question found a guy near me who has a 120 & 220 gallon tanks that are up and running and he is moving out of the country by end of year. He is willing to sell his live rock at $1/lb. Should I do it? I'm in a dilemma because I leave for vacation this Saturday and am was going to leave them in barrel with saltwater and pump to cycle the water etc...but not sure what to do lol.

Great deal is it natural live rock or artificial?

All natural not man made that was my first concern as well. Here are some pics of the 2 tanks it came from.

Also, I do have a hitchhiker, can someone please tell me if this is an emerald crab? If so is it ok to place it in my small tank temporarily that has Coral and a Peppermint shrimp?

Yep that's an emerald. $1 per pound of cured Marco rock is a pretty good deal, definitely grab that if you need to fill out your tank. Just confirm it wasn't ever held in copper or any fish quarantine setups.

Yes no copper etc.
So can I put the emerald in my small tank with coral and shrimp?

Here are some pics of the awesome rock I got and man it smelled like a beautiful ocean all the way home!
Also, can anyone identify the guy I'm holding?

Looks like a small clam, harmless. That rock looks pretty nice! Mix of Marco and I think pukani? Possibly a piece or two of Australian (the long thin branching piece on the right of the first picture).
