Mollies in Sump

Does anyone know if mollies will eat up all the chaeto and pods in the sump?

I don't believe they'd touch pods. They are algae eaters. I do suspect they'd go to town on Chaeto though. The bigger question is why would you put them there?

I was thinking they can help clean the refgium a bit by eating algae. Also I have a display Refugium, was thinking to have some fish to swim in it.

Makes sense. I've had them in my main display a number of times though and never noted them eating anything but algae, but never watched that closely to see if they were looking for pods.

Mine have eaten PE pellets and frozen mysis and lots of tank algae. I am not sure I have caught eating pods but I figure it is if easy enough.

All mollies will eat pods, but not all really want to.
Black mollies are supposedly a bit better, preferring to graze.
Unfortunately, I don't think all that many fish really "like" to eat Chaeto either.

And pods will presumably still hide deep in the chaeto.
