Updated BAR policy on the marine macroalgae Caulerpa sp.:
We are no longer allowing the sale, trade, gifting, or rehoming of Caulerpa through the Bay Area Reefers forum, BAR sponsored events, BAR social media, or direct/private messages through our website. We can't police what you already have in your tank of course, but we are complying with the 2023 total ban on the Caulerpa genus (75+ species) in accordance with the following California law:
BAR's bylaws intend for the club to encourage the ethical husbandry and propagation of marine life through education, and this policy extends to our local wildlife. New threads and posts containing the word "Caulerpa" will be reviewed by moderators before showing publicly. If you have any questions, please contact any of the BAR BOD members. Thank you for keeping our local waters safe!
