Nova T-5 Retrofit by Current

Have any of you guys had any experience with these all-in-one lamps? Also any leads on LFS that might carry them would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

I have a little, the ballasts blew in less than a year, both of them. I switched them out with Universals and haven't had a problem since.

yeah, they are cheap looking, but they also seem handy, does Universal just do T5 ballasts, or do they do a ballast+lamp T5?

Thanks,

Josh
[/quote]They are a commercial ballast maker. If your looking to go econo, the Tek fixtures perform quite well IME.

These things MUST be terrible. The biggest benefit of T5s is the reflector, which this does not have. I go back to the old tried and true saying: buy good, buy once...buy cheap, buy good later anyway.

Don't throw your money away. Buy a retro from ReefGeek or a cheap Tek fixture.

I just need a simple strip light for the refuge and it needs to be less than 24", the Nova are the only T5 I've found in the sub 24" range, all the Tek stuff seems to be primary lighting.

I was thinking 9 watt (18") Freshwater 6700k SlimPaq to grow chaeto
