$750000 a year and they guys got nothing? You'd think he'd make hay while the sunshines instead of getting greedy and hedging (gambling with) his money. Somehow I really don't feel sorry for the guy and I think he found the right job for himself, he obviously wasn't smart enough to play the greed game and went to the point of compromising his family and lifestyle ::).

Well this is America, where big dream can happen. A lot of people openned their biz and failed. My dad is one of them. The most important thing is learn from your mistake and still able to get up after the fall....

Gambling with your families security is never a good option. However, if the guy has learned from his mistake and is humble enough to deliver pizzas to feed his family (and not be bitter about it), then he is taking responsibility for his mistake and I have to give him kudos for that.

Hey Ed, sorry to hear about what happen. It's always sad to see friends and colleagues got let go. Be gratefull you still have a job.

I got laid off in January and am still searching for a full time job. Nice thing is the company let me stayed as a contractor till end of March. The job market is currently bad at this point, with new news of lay offs every month and I haven't seen the end in sight yet. You can check the news here about the layoffs since Oct'2008:

Ed: Is your company on the list yet?
