I have the power connected to my Launch's A/C outlet and I don't use 0-10V for control, because my Launch doesn't have 0-10V Out and I don't feel the need for it in my situation.

Looks like this guy used the Hydros Quad 0-10V cable and the pump should be setup as a flow pump, not a return pump: https://forum.coralvuehydros.com/th...through-hydros-x4-controller-0-10v-port.2387/

I see. Thank you. I wanted to connect it directly with the pump output of the wave engine. Maybe I ask them if there is an adapter for this like they have for the gyres, VarioS etc.

I wanted to eliminate shading on the acros and get some more spread since there is a big drop off in par when you get to the edges of the tank, so I picked up two AI Blade Grows from @B the Nano Reefer for a nice price.

I just did a quick setup to see how the shading would change and I think they help. I like the look of the spectrum so far too but will need to experiment with tweaking settings and getting the schedule figured out.

I also need to figure out how to mount. I bought the elevated tank mounts, but I think I want the lights higher so I can access the top of the tank easier for photos and glass cleaning. But that will be more complicated, and I foresee issues with algae growing faster in the Avast Plank tube. I bought the cover that Avast sells, but when I used it, my food would get soggy from the evaporation, so currently not using it.

Tank got wet around mid May 2024 and was started with 10 pounds of KP Aquatics starter live rock and some live rubble from Aquabiomics. I let it marinate for a month with no lights before putting the first test corals in.

I think I have some sort of Hydroid, I can see them on the 3d printed frag plug post and on the under side of a monti. I thought they were little feather dusters at first, but on closer inspection I'm leaning towards hydroid. They don't have a hard tube to retract into like feather duster and the "feathers" look different. Doesn't seem to effect the monti so far.

Any suggestion on what it is and what to do? Leave it? Kill it with fire?

Did a hydrogen peroxide dip on the monti that seemed like it helped. I'm planning to brush full strength hydrogen peroxide on the underside of the monti, leave for like 30 seconds, dip coral in fresh saltwater, and repeat a few times.

I'm planning on printing new frag stands and replacing or dipping the frag rack that has them in hydrogen peroxide.

Also looking into fenbendazole, specifically fish flake with fenbendazole as a possible in tank treatment option.
 
I started the tank with starter live rock from KP Aquatics, with most of it in the middle chamber of the AIO. Took a look recently and saw some cool life back there.

Starfish that I can't seem to identify, it's like a brittle starfish with harlequin serpent starfish pattern:

My GHA "refugium", I have a strip of black acrylic to cover the back chambers of the AIO, but there is a tiny gap that let's light through and that's where the GHA is growing. I like this because it shows the importance of herbivores - I have no herbivores in this chamber and there is plenty of GHA, I have plenty of herbivores in the display and there is no GHA.

Trochus snails have spawned "successfully", I found two survivors in the return pump chamber. I have a crazy amount of amphipods and they usually eat all the snail eggs.

I have another type of hydroid (I think) that for sure came in on the live rock. They have a brown tube that is soft, a green ring that glows, and white tentacles that are more hydroid like than feather duster like.

Equipment Updates

Changed the skimmer to an IceCap K1-50 nano. The IOAOI skimmer pump had a stainless steel shaft that started to rust. I had a K1-50 that I sold to @Alexander1312 that I should have kept lol.

Got a couple 30" AI Blade Grows and the plan was to replace the Reefi Uno 2.0. I decided to use them as supplemental lighting instead since I didn't want to lose the broader Sprectrum the Reefi provides. I also lowered the Reefi and put on the 120 degree refelctors. It took me awhile, but I designed and printed some adjustable 2040 Blade holder mount thingies.

I added another MP-10 to the other side of the tank. I need to play with placement/modes/settings, but I like the flow they are providing. The ends of each side of the tank are in a medium-ish flow and the middle has high flow where everything crashes together, which is good because that is where I have my acros.

Living Things Update

For the hydroid situation, I took out the frag racks that had them and replaced with new ones. I got rid of the monti that was infested with them after trying potassium chloride dip and a hydrogen peroxide dip. In hindsight I should have experimented with different ways to try and kill them, like brushing full strength hydrogen peroxide directly on the hydroids or doing a potassium chloride spray instead of a dip. I also took out the rocks that had the hydroids with the green tips. Let's see how long it lasts...

I cut off the frags that were overgrowing their plugs and remounted to larger tiles. Still need to figure new placement now that there is different flow and light.

I would have sold you the skimmer back, I replaced this with a Nyos 120 (but considering now going back to the icecap). No great skimmer available for the nano tanks except maybe the smallest DELTEC, but given the price tag, I put this on my Santa Claus list.

Why no gyres in this tank?

What PAR are the Merlin’s under?

I think I also have the solar flare, but the home wrecker overtook it in terms of growth speed haha.

All looks great of course.
