tuberider's 150g small apartment diplacement tank (super long)

Wow, I can't believe I didn't see this thread before! Great job Jeremy! Can't wait to see how your canopy and lighting will look like and your aquascaping is done. It's looking very good already now! Sorry to hear you lost so many corals in the process.

Why I farm the way I do (warning-long!)

Very cool setup Jim! How do you keep the rods from sliding down the holes in the frag rack? Do they go all the way to the bottom of the tank?

    Media Reactors

I used the BRS version like Bryan has and I loved it, was so easy to change the media and use. It does take up quite a bit of space though.

Alve's tank today, thanks to BAR!

Time for a last update. As of yesterday, Saturday 08/01, the tank has been shut down. The corals and fish were removed over the last two weeks and today the tank and stand got picked up. I didn't stop because I am tired of the hobby but because of other reasons. Therefore it was with a lot...

Alve's tank today, thanks to BAR!

Thanks for the advice Mike! I didn't think about keeping the tubing off the bottom to avoid clogging if anything settles, only thought about keeping the tubing from floating to the top. I pulled it out of the PVC pipe a little more so it is pointing up a bit now :).

How many gallons for automatic water changes?

Kinetic, you need a Litermeter III (pumps water out), a waterchange module (pretty much a second pump that pumps NSW in) and a reservoir for NSW. No controller is needed, the Litermeter III takes care of that. You don't need to turn off your auto top off because of the very small amounts that...

    saltwatersig's tank

Good to be back for now! My wife and kids have been out of town all day so I had some time to setup an automatic water change and spend some time reading through the forum to see what I missed lately. It sucks being very busy and only having one day a week off! On the other hand, I can be happy...

How many gallons for automatic water changes?

Thanks for the input Mike and Tony! Jay, it's very easy. The Litermeter III pump removes a set amount of water every day. That amount is spread over 150 times a day that the pump kicks on so those are very small amounts each time. At first I was worried that my auto top off would kick on...

How many gallons for automatic water changes?

Thanks for the info Tony! I could imagine that small amounts at a time wouldn't exual a big water change at once but now I actually understand it with your calculations. I might bump it up a little bit so I get to 45-50% monthly.

Alve's tank today, thanks to BAR!

Thanks Adolfo425! Here are some more pictures I took last week: Jeremy, you know this one for sure :) Will be in DBTC for delivery when I finally get to go to a meeting again (October): ORA Purple Plasma, not very purple to me :) Rainbow Monti: Green Slimer...

Alve's tank today, thanks to BAR!

For a long time I have been thinking about setting up something for automatic water changes. During my busy summer season I always started slacking. My last two water changes had been 3 weeks since the previous one instead of every two weeks so today I got to work and finally set up my...
