    Marine Betta

I have wild ones that take floating foods and some even go for flakes on the surface. It is more a matter of tank mates than marine bettas not doing it.

    Marine Betta

Some of my larger ones take cocktail shrimps, some even from tweezers. Most take frozen foods, pellets, flakes... All will usually be able to live of pods if there are enough and, in a pinch, they can go with little or no food for quite a while. If you go with wild ones, buy locally if possible...

    Marine Betta

This isn't entirely correct. They are definitely not ambush predators or related to groupers (not even close) but rather hunt more like lionfish, cornering their prey and fencing it in with their large tailfin. They hunt larger shrimp if they spot them but most of the time they pick pods...

Do it yourself air to water cooler brain storming.

Aluminum is toxic as well. Stainless 316Ti would work with saltwater but steel is a very poor heat conductor. The best resistance against corrosion in saltwater has Titanium (aside from Gold, Platinum, and other insanely expensive precious or rare earth metals) But all that really just makes...

Well, looks like I got to do it myself in the backyard again...

    All juvenile Anemonefish are females!

Also, anemonefish don't care for their larvae, they eat them when they catch them still hanging out by the anemone in the morning! The juveniles you find with adult pairs are never their offspring! Perfectly appropriate - after all, it's Pride month!

    All juvenile Anemonefish are females!

I don't know of anything in particular but I would think there should be something. Try Google Scholar.

    All juvenile Anemonefish are females!

The common assumption that all Anemonefish start out as males is funamentally incorrect. They rather start out as non-functional females, then, when rising to the number 2 position in the hierarchy, become functional males, and finally, if making it all the way to the top, become functional...

Who wants to go in on buying 360 Coralz?

I'm sure Karson and Joe make a living with Aquatic Collection - their store is easily the best saltwater store in the Bay Area and there are always plenty of customers around. But the real and only steady money in this business is in full-service tank maintenance. If you buy a store without...

Who wants to go in on buying 360 Coralz?

I first need to make some drug money... tell me how ;) If I had $200k laying around, last thing I would do is buying a failing fish store... and it is failing big time. Every time I was there on weekends it was either closed or a ghost town and only few sick fish in the tanks. At the same time...

Could need some help with some carpentry

I looked, but nothing you can buy of the shelf will fit the need close enough to be satisfying and my space is so limited that I have nothing to waste. Plus money is tight so a custom metal frame is not in the budget.

I'm in Warm Springs, Fremont, smack on the south end of the Hayward Fault. If that one goes off there isn't much left standing...

Who wants to go in on buying 360 Coralz?

Seems to be large enough to partition off an area for an aquaculture facility... I could need more space for breeding Marine Bettas and my Regal Angel pair asked for a bigger tank. The $1 price tag is a bit concerning. It usually means that there are substantial debts or financial obligations...

Could need some help with some carpentry

Design changes are problematic at this point as existing parts have to be reused. As for earthquakes, smaller ones should not be a problem and when the big one hits we are fucked anyway and fish tanks will be the least of our worries.

Could need some help with some carpentry

Certainly. I'm not expecting it to be for free.
