Wow, stunning colony. Incredible work growing that out, how long did it take?
Thanks! I really appreciate it. Grown from a small frag purchased almost 4 years ago.

It's funny - after I posted that pic I was thinking it doesn't really capture the size very well because it stretches from the front to the back of the tank and all the way around the large purple stylo, but hard to see it all from the front. Here's from top down/the side:

Also another small colony cropping up on the other side of the tank:

Wow. Really impressive colony, it’s huge

I'm not entirely sure! I have a couple patches of it. It came in as a hitchhiker on my live rock from Gulf Live Rock. It's some species of cup or tube coral, maybe Cladocora Arbuscula? I'd love help on the ID if anyone has any ideas!

Here's a close up another patch:

Looks like a snake polyp of some kind.

That's exactly what I thought too, from the zoomed out pic. On the close-up, though, you can see branching, which snake polyps don't do. I think @SFREEF3R's guess of Cladocora sp. is pretty close, it's very unique whatever it is.

Also that close up is really crisp, you can see the nematocyst batteries and the acrosphere on each tentacle. Very cool stuff

Had some patches of these too. Non-photosynthetic from what I could see. Ate calanus really well.
