@timmeh has offered to host a frag plug and plate workshop. Where he will give us general instruction and advice on making frag plugs.

He has mentioned that he has vast experience when it comes to making pottery and similar items.

His plan is to make plaster molds and have use make frag plugs and he will than fire them for us in his kilns.

We will likey plan sometype of food either bbq or prehaps pizza. That will be worked out closer to the event.

This is open to supporting members. Providing space allows.

This is awesome!

So, a minor bit of news. I offically ordered another smoker should be delivered tomorrow. I expect a trail run soon, than who knows something smoked may show up to a future event.

Just grabbed one of the masterbuilt electric smokers same brand as I had before but probably slightly smaller. When I do catering i tend to have way to much going on to watch and properly maintain a wood burning smokers.

So electric lets me work on other items and not burn crap.

Totally understand. I'm not a fan of babysitting either. The Stumps Stretch XL is a perfect catering rig. Its gravity fed. Put an blower & controller on it, walk away :)

I just pulled out the first little test batch of cast and stamped plugs. The little rough edges need to br trimmed/scraped off before firing, but that's typical. Maybe we can record and edit a little video showing the end-to-end process, given that it is quite simple. :)

Had a great time today learned alot of information from @timmeh. Was also a pleasure catching up with @psidriven and his family today as well.

so first batch of plugs came out of the molds. Seen behind the white molds in pictures. I should have plenty to give out at possibly cfm or the next event.

The next part of the proccess after pouring them into the molds would be to stamp them with bar clownfish logos which will take some practice to get them right using my amatuer hands. After the stamp they are left out in open air to dry all the way out. Lastly they are to be fired in a pottery kiln to harden (for roughly 14 hours)

It will likely be a small learning curve for me to get these perfect like the ones @timmeh made in his picture above. Overall fun diy project and not hard as I expected to do these.

That's awesome! I wish I could have come to learn. Looks like a lot of fun.
