i have a jebao dcp-10000 which tops out at 2500gph, but aiming for 1500-2000gph. this site suggests 1in is optimal for 1500gph. is this accurate? any better sites?

It’s the bends that kill the flow. I’ve run across spec flow sheets before that do the math calculations for you. But of course I can’t find them on line now that I’m looking for them.

Might be this one

Will going too big on hose size also kill flow and be less efficient?

It won't kill flow per-say. The same amount of water will go into the pipe, it will will eventually run at a slower velocity. That can allow things to build up and eventually clog. That said, in our applications as an example, I don't think picking 1.25" vs 1" is going to make that much as long as you don't pair it with a severely underpowered pump, like a 200 gph or run the flow really low of a stronger pump.

You'll never get anywhere near that kind of flow. Im currently running the 13000 for my uv. Max flow is advertised as 3566 gph. I have it running at almost 100% through 3/4" pipe. It also goes through 3 90s. Most ive ever seen out of it was 425gph.

This is at 88%

damn, that’s a ridiculous drop from advertised flow. I’m running 1in pvc with 5 90bends and about 4.5ft high. Guess 1000gph is too much to hope for. I’ll grab a flow meter to check once it’s running.
