Are these frag plugs the annoying ones?

I remember seeing a thread a while ago regarding certain annoying frag plugs (maybe the stems didn't break off?).

Will people be annoyed if I bring these to the swap? I got them off Amazon. Maybe I'll try breaking a stem off if that's the issue to check...

Reefing art I think they are called. Very difficult to cut and break stems off.

I think it depends on how long and what temperature the ceramic plugs are fired at that determines how hard they are when finished. Some ceramic ones are much easier to frag and break up than others. Some could literally be fired from a cannon and sink a pirate ship lol. I've bent and chipped metal clippers on reefing art ones. I've had to use a dremel or saw to cut them.

From the way they look in the picture, I am getting traumatic memories....

But the easiest way is to try cutting off the stem with a regular coral propagation tool, which is not an electric 1hp saw.

Not exactly a clean break, but I was able to remove the stem with pliers and a bit of force.
I have other stuff I can bring to the swap that's mounted to hex plugs without stems. I'll bring those instead to not annoy you folks

Maybe they just look similar; since force is needed with most of them, I believe the aragonite are somewhat easier to remove. So, they should be fine.

Also, the main issue is with frags that are encrusted over the frag plug. We usually remove the entire frag plug as a good practice when getting new coral frags from others (and dipping, etc.), and the corals you want to mount won't be encrusted yet by the time of the swap.
