    Reef Chowder Event

Mine spawned the other night and my friends spawned yesterday. Coincidence?

next steps, moving up from a refracto

I only see the Milwaulkee and the pinpoint at the bottom end. Then there's the Hanna one at about $200 and a few others in that range. That's also about where the mid-priced handhelds are. But I did find a very pretty handheld for $599 that looked fun!

next steps, moving up from a refracto

All the cheap ones either slip. the calibration screws rust, the hinge pins rust etc... so I started looking at the nice handhelds and realized I was in the price range of the bottom end digitals anyway.

next steps, moving up from a refracto

I'd like to get a digital salinity meter for the store. Anyone have any experience with the pinpoint one? Seems to be the cheapest one out there from a reputable mfg. Any other suggestions? Gman?

So how do PNG and Australia deal with Coral Farming and Harvesting?

+1 but I say that about anywhere that's more than 5 minutes in the car.

Let's use my space for something more than a coral farm

I've heard of the speed dating thing. What if there was speed swapping? Everyone brings 6 frags, 5 minutes to exchange a frag and info with the other person then on to the next... might be a good way to get both coral and info spread at the same time...hmmmm

Let's use my space for something more than a coral farm

That sounds good but I don't know anyone who can cook BBQ. Do you???????? Seriously though, I'm not sure how the city of Bezerkeley would feel about BBQ's on the sidewalk since we don't have a parking lot. Which is too bad...

    I don't think so. Besides I don't really like to drink much...sorry...LOL

Let's use my space for something more than a coral farm

Using the space for profit certainly IS a new idea. I do want to keep it manageable in the space so open invite frag swaps are out (anyway, there's always people swapping coral with each other in the store all day long, which I encourage). So I was thinking about something that was drier, LOL...

Let's use my space for something more than a coral farm

Sure, that would be fine but someone else would have to run it. I know very little about LED technology. Mostly what Zeb and Gresham and Jake tell me!

Let's use my space for something more than a coral farm

Looking for interesting ideas for after hours and on our closed days. Movies? Discussion group? gaming? Fragging sessions? ...

So how do PNG and Australia deal with Coral Farming and Harvesting?

I'd like to hear it. I'll toss you a frag of your choice or buy you lunch to have that discussion in Berkeley! It would be especially interesting given that we're friends for so long and yet probably disagree about some of the core issues. Ok, feel called out?

    Pond plants

Yes, many of the old standard plants are a no-no here. And while I don't miss the lemnas, I sure do like azolla as a floating top cover. And no water sprite?!

    Tank as combustion byproduct meter

Silly me, I thought you were monitoring how much you spent on coral as a byproduct of combustion. NM. LOL!

So how do PNG and Australia deal with Coral Farming and Harvesting?

So, BAR is rich, just fly him in! That's probably the only way (short of visiting ourselves) to really know what's going on.
