Looking for some Viparspectra hanging kits

I miss-spoke- the acorn nuts are an integral part of the wire assembly and have to stay with the wires. If you are interested, I will check the thread size and If I don't have a replacement on hand (for my installation) I'll trade you for 4 home depot nuts that fit.

Looking for some Viparspectra hanging kits

Alexx- I have a set I won't be using, but you may need the four acorn attachment nuts. If I can replace the acorns with nuts I can find in my hardware collection, I can provide those too, I am in in Daly City.

    Probes

Generally, you can soak a dry PH probe, re-calibrate and put it back into service. The apex temp probes are not damage by running dry. If you do need to replace a temp probe, (unlikely) I think the apex probe with the "phone jack" is proprietary to Apex. Milwaukee PH probes fit the Apex. If...

    Free filefish

I could take this homeless fish, but due to work for the next week/ten days/maybe two weeks, 16/7, ( trial in LA) I can't spare the time to drive to Kensington ( I am assuming that's where KR is located) from coastside Daly City. Or attend to personal hygiene. (OK- TMI ) Anyone willing to...

Dealing with algae in a 'small' tank.

I recently managed to cultivate a nice cyno garden in a sterile tank - new sand, peroxide for the rocks, no livestock, no cycling additives. Cyno was restricted to the area occupied by my "vintage" always- wet rocks. So I am again a believer in old rock leaching nutrients, and am sorry I didn't...

    New Aquamax 7" Sock holder

It fell into my cart while I was immersed in the MD feeding frenzy. I rarely use socks, and when I do they are size 4, because my feets be small.. If you need to use 7" socks its yours here in Daly City. And to quote the great Fats Waller, "your feets too big" Don't drink and shop, kids.

    Plumbing/RODI question

Thanks- That makes sense. Anything that made it into the waste water line will get purged once I turn on the RODI. Time to break out the drain snake, which requires a posture I am too old to maintain.

    Plumbing/RODI question

Hi all. I am in the middle of my annual kitchen sink stoppage and am concerned about my RO/DI unit under that sink. The wastewater saddle clamp attaches to the sink drain pipe and is located above the RO/DI unit. What are the chances that the nasty stuff - including the useless drain cleaner -...

Do it yourself air to water cooler brain storming.

A normal chiller won't serve the dual purpose of also keeping your beer cold and close enough to grab during water changes.

How hot did your tanks get today?

Daly City- maybe 100 yards from the ocean. I have 1200 watts of heater working 24/7 to almost hold 77 in the tank. I don't think the ambient temperature hit 70 all week.

    Ideas - sump in basement?

I am relatively certain I have at least one CPR overflow around here you are welcome to when you are ready. Maybe even an aqualift pump. I won't have time to dig to dig through the plastic pile for a few days to verify. I ran them for years. They never failed on me, but that was back when you...

    Fiesta Vallarta Restaurant Tank

"I think these are older than I am." Careful there, kid - I used to run those Lifeguard modules. I don't need to be reminded that I'm older than my live rock.

CL Freebie alert - San Francisco

Posted this afternoon on Craigslist SF - Iwaki MD 30, EJ 200 heater, and what looks like a ER or ETS skimmer. Free. I'd grab them, but I have a garage full of that stuff. Search "reef".

    What is this?

There's never "only one" aiptasia. I have had repeated good luck with peppermint shrimp. If you get the right ones, they will clear a tank full of aiptsia overnight. Years ago, it was thought that only one species on the market - Lysmata wurdemanni - had an appetite for the wee nasties. I am not...

    Restarting - any tips?

I can tell you what not to do: Spread your wet sand out in the sun to dry. Every cat in the neighborhood... I am also restarting my tank which was "fallow" (ignored) for 18 months after a PG&E issue took out the Apex and the MH ballasts while I was not around. My plan was to do a minimum reboot...

    Caulerpa prolifera in fuge?

Thanks for breaking my heart Aqua Lab...

The last yellow tang I bought from an LFS cost me $12.99. He was with me for 8 years, but did not survive a house move. (Anybody want to hear about the horrific downside of the deep sand bed ?) Having been away from the boards for a few years, I thought I would purchase a shoal of 5 as I...
