    Yay ! Nitrites continue to drop 1.77 and ammonia 0 , this is officially day 6 of the cycle ,, and the evaporation rate with canopy has decreased by 70% :) in the first 24 hours

    Why I wanted small gaps at bottom, I wanted to reduce evaporation but maintain plenty of air flow across the water surface, both to prevent heat and maintain oxygenation of the water. With the sloped sides and condensation that builds will run to bottom then drip back into tank :)

    It’s 3/4” angle frame plastidipped, then skinned with black abs ,a few clean up items ( paint the hooks) that it hangs it on the frame and trim the ends of the front snd back pieces to match up with he ends better ( left it just a touch long for trial fitting )

    Lights and “canopy” done cycle nearly finished Dr Tim’s one and only, with 40 lbs of live sand rocks, ammonia has peaked and dropped to less than .15, nitrites are dropping daily and at 2.06 today!

    I ran deep sand beds years ago on my reef tank, loved it, so chose to go that route again, it will have a bunch of tiny sand dwellers in it as part of the CUC, the rocks are all on 2 1/2 inch stands so the sand dwellers have free roam and the stands are silicones in place so aquascape can’t move...

    Aquascape done , sand in, sump will be finished tomorrow, 2 baffles remain for install (bubble trap) then finish plumbing and it’s ready for water and a cycle !

    Stand frame is complete, (2) Red Sea reef 90’s, 2 mp40qd’s, skimmer, return pump,180 lbs aragonite sand, 100 lbs of aragonite rock, and sump in hand, will skin the frame in 3/4 birch plywood and be ready to put it all together :)
