Now that Tony made this all compliscated, Ill have to add that I use Luminarc minis with my 250 watters on a 28 " tank. The reflectors really do make a difference..

it also depends on what you want to grow at what levels of the tank. Im running 250s on a 28" deep tank, but I only keep sps on the top half..softies/some LPS on the bottom.

Thanks! My big beef with LPS has always been thier shape. The colors are insane, but a colorful mound or disk blanketting the sand never looked good to me, so it makes sense to create the shapes you want and then grow your LPS onto it. I made a branched rock shaped like a claw that is current...

Nice job! Ive been experimenting lately to. I use an insane amount of aquamed since its cheaper. If HD in the city is out of it, its because of me haha. Ive actually sculpted shapes like big mushrooms with the plan to have a nice favia grow over it..Ill get some pics when I get time!
