Yeah keep in mind that it can blast tissue off of acros within 10"s of it if on at full blast. (Ive done it) I keep mine full blast on my 150, but in reef crest mode, the output only hits top speed for small amounts of time.

Hehe..that IS the colony! I dont have a frag tank and Im really picky with any spaces I have left in my tank. With a good WANT list of corals left, Im getting Rid of some corals. This one was one of them. Its actually pretty cool and grows fast!

What kind of red algae? Slime or puffy? Do you know your nitrate or phosphate readings? How old is the tank? It could be a cycle if its a newish tank.
