    Planted Tanks

I was keeping Amano style high-tech planted tank for awhile. SFBAAPS is a great resource and also barrreport - original forum of Thomas Barr who is from Sac and famous for promoting his own fertilizing regime. In Bay Area we have priceless resource - Aqua Forest aquarum store in SF.

Blenny is must - my favorite is Snowflake Blenny aka Starry Blenny - full of personality, peaceful and fun to watch. Also never seen him eat algea. My neighbor call him Wally cause it reminds her walrus :)

No it doesn't fit in gallon ziplock - I got jumbo zip from Target. Also I heard that rice is good dessicant - I keep some in the bag.

Local Fry's still carry ESUN filaments - not a cheapest one but I've had a good experience with it. Amazon has it for couple bucks less. I also used Hatchbox and Overture - both were good.

Btw - my own start procedure looks like that: 1) calibrate extruder - basically measure how much filament gets extruded by the extruder motor and correct coefficient. This can be done only once and saved to printer eeprom. 2) Calibrate temp and flow - this should be done for every roll of...

I would start from KISS - no upgrades, manual leveling. The Ender by itself is great machine without extra bells and whistles. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Manual - takes a minute but one less point of failure ;) For creality you will have to play with firmware and run extra wiring - not a bug deal but takes some time and effort . I tried bl-touch clone and it didn’t work for me. With glass bed the bl- touch is only one choice. For metal bed you...

That way you miss the most interesting part of the hobby - watching how something cool comes from plastic wire ;) And immediate feedback where you can fix wrong design - I usually do 4-5 prototypes before something useful comes out. Sometimes even more - especially when you need exact fit of...

Pointers - looking into 3D Printing

Hi George, I've been tinkering with 3D printer for a little bit and it's not complicated once you figured the workflow. My son went to summer camp where he learned most of but lost interest. TinkerCAD is easy if you don't need exact dimensions, good for kids. Fusion360 has a little steep...

    Reefer 170 reborn

I’m continue to fight the summer tank crisis and still not sure whats going on with my tank - all params looks fine, some micros are low but it shouldn’t cause that much distress imho. Its been two month and my tank is not recovering at all - all corals are stressed and no signs of even slight...
