    DBTC: Monti Setosa Coral

Someone pick this up! I used to have a huge colony of this growing on the bottom of my tank. One of the most beautiful pieces. It's hard to get this kind of neon orange

red sea reefer tanks - anyone got opinions?

I understand that, but how are you mounting the HIGH? You said it's at the level at the filter sock. How is it mounted at that level?

red sea reefer tanks - anyone got opinions?

do you have any pics of your setup? I also noticed that the included res was way too small. The included float switch looks a little cleaner than what I have, and doesn't look like it would cause the stray current issues that I have with mines.

    Monti tips bleach.

I personally 2dKH would be too much of a swing, but others can chime in on their experiences!

    Monti tips bleach.

I don't trust the calculator, but I think you may need to add what you're current dosing plus that amount.

    My Acclimation/Coral Dipping Set Up

Usually, during my lugols dip, I scrub the frags to get rid of nuisance algae. I really pinpoint some spots if the algae is tough like turf algae, with tweezers. I'm too afraid to use hydrogen peroxide. I haven't had issues with most nuisance algae, so i think i've been pretty lucky.

    neuro's 60 gallon cube

Thanks yip! For some reason, coralline doesnt grow there. I've seen it start to grow, but it disappears quickly. I've had other tanks where it was impossible to prevent it. Coralline in my tank only grows where the light doesn't touch--like the undersides of my rock. Go figure.. Sent from my...

    Anyone use Lanthanum Chloride?

i've heard most of what you guys mentioned. thanks for all of your input! I'll be coming to a few of you if I decide to jump this way. I did a phosphate check today, and it's at 0. Getting to that 0 isn't as easy for me as it's probably for @wpeterson .. i've been running into issues that...

    Anyone use Lanthanum Chloride?

The latest TOTM on Reefcentral mentions using Foz Down, which is lanthanum chloride.. he's using this in place of media like GFO to reduce phosphates. I would love to use something like this instead of constantly changing out and tumbling my GFO... which has always been a pain in the ass to...
