    Alex’s IM 150 EXT

Another thing - You need to delay your skimmer by a minute or two when the pumps come back on, because the water level is super high in your sump - which is what causes the skimmer to overflow the skimmate container. If you program a 90 second delay your skimmer won’t turn on again until the...

    Calcium Reactors

Lol. To be fair - I have always been kind of a kalk hater (see my tank journal!), just for very different reasons than @Alexander1312 . People often praise kalk for its simplicity but I think it's anything but, and requires a lot of nuance to actually execute well without risk/hassle/harm to...

    Flat worm id?

You want to take this six line wrasse that came out of that tank? It's in my frag tank right now - I am sure he is the reason the population wasn't out of control in the dentist tank...

    Calcium Reactors

Yeah fair enough, but I like the long term hands off approach that the carx offers, and I don’t have space in my cabinet for another couple of bottles. But yeah I don’t think that’s a terrible option either. I do like to tinker…but appreciate being able to set it and forget it. I am also...

    Calcium Reactors

?? Is calc reactor older school than kalk or 2part? Maybe I am missing your point. What are the “new school” methods to maintain calcium besides carx, 2part, or kalk? Aren’t these pretty much the only options, and haven’t they all been around a long time?

@RandyC maybe I can swing by your place again at some point to get educated on your reactors and check them out? not in any rush, but maybe when we swap frags again. you should trade me something for this damn Scoly

Quit trying to talk sense in to me dammit! I do have gallon containers now and have to refill them monthly or so...looking to up my laziness game even further here. And yes, change it up with some new equipment and a new approach to things. I need to get this done so I can go back to Fing...

    Calcium Reactors

What unit would you recommend? My tank is 225g and mostly stony corals. You're probably not wrong. But another issue is just laziness, I hate mixing 2part and refilling the containers. It's not THAT big of a deal but I've always been curious about Calcium reactors.

    Calcium Reactors

Thanks for the advice. Are "automatic" reactors worth it? How much space does yours realistically take up - can I just assume the footprint of the unit + the co2 cannister is all I'll need to make room for?

    Calcium Reactors

So it needs to pull water from the tank? I have no idea how these operate. This means I'll need to either replace my AWC or run a 4th tube. Currently I have 3 lines to the garage - 1 kalk, 1 SW, 1 wastewater

    Calcium Reactors

I am using an ecotech versa right now to move kalk from the garage to the tank, so I assume this pump will do the same for carx effluent. What do you mean by round trip? If the entire carx assembly is in the garage, and only the effluent is going to the tank, is there a need for a round trip...

    Calcium Reactors

Question for folks that are using a CaRx - can I install one in the garage and run the effluent through RODI tubing about 20ft to the house? Would there be any issues with that? I am kind of tired of messing with kalkwasser (and I suspect it may be precipitating @Alexander1312 ) and 2-part is...
