I'm no expert on the subject, but I do feel that if you add some kind of filter floss on top of the carbon you may have better results. Before I picked up the filter media cup I was running two 200 micron filter socks and they get really dirty. I'm still going to use 1 filter sock and the 2nd...

Journal update. I replaced my Current Orbit lighting with 2 used AI Prime HD lights. The corals look much better. Took some time to adjust to a setting the corals accept.

Are you just going to add the coral rubble straight into the filter cup without a media bag?

So would you replace the rubble or rinse for reuse? How often you replace? Every 2 - 3 weeks, 3 months, etc.? I have to replace my socks at least once every two weeks. It's cleaning them that is tiresome.

So, you are using 2 cups and both have carbon at the bottom of the filter floss?

That'll have to part of my next build. I don't think that there's enough room in my sump for a roller.
