Do Tuxedo Urchins scratch up acrylic aquariums?

I have had two in my tank for over year and I have not noticed them scratch up the tank. The biggest problem so far has been the homo sapian who owns the tank. I know exactly when each and every scratch was made.

Staining the floors in the room with a tank

BTW, the stain and coating would be newest low VOC and water based.

Staining the floors in the room with a tank

We are thinking about replacing our carpet and adding hardwood floors in our family room. This means ripping up the carpet and sanding and staining the new floors. We stained the back rooms last year and the tank was fine even though the house did smell for several days. This time, however, it...

    LED Refugium light needed

BTW, I have a $40 daylight LED spotlight from home depot and it works fine -- grows a lot of chaeto (I think 11W).

    Marc's ADA 60P build

Banggai are great, and 2 or 3 should do fine in your tank. Look for tank-bred (not tank-raised) as they are now an endangered species. I am likely to add some to my tank as well. They need meaty foods like frozen mysids, but the clowns do too.

    Dipping toes into salty water...

I would not want to run too long without a skimmer. A good skimmer is very effective at removing organics in the water column. I am a big softies guy and they love rotifers and other small frozen food particulates, but you need some method to export the left overs.

    Puffer ID

I am probably the last person who should be trying to answer this, but in the interest of trying to help, I tried this: http://www.fishbase.org/identification/specieslist.php?famcode=448&areacode= If you can set the whitebalance on you camera to "push button" and focus on the white sand, you...

    Aptasia outbreak

I tried peppermint shrimp and they didn't touch. I added a few (expensive) berghia and they did not eat it. I then got the zapper. It kind of worked, but I ended up pulling out some rock too.

    Surprise Return

I came back from a few days in LA and my female clown appears gravid and my smaller male seahorse appears to have a brood in his pouch. I had given up with the clowns since I keep the tank at 75F for the seahorses, but after a few months of getting settled into a new cave, they appear...

Keeping Airline Tubing at the Bottom for an ATO

Any off-the-shelf or DIY solutions for keeping the airline tubing at the bottom of my reservoir for my top-off container? I think I remember seeing a little reef-safe weight the tubing fit through, but I cannot find it online (but honestly, I could have tried harder).

    Updated 125G Seahorse/Soft Coral Tank

I add 1ml of Selcon to their 2L container and wait 3 hours. Other have said to wait 12 hours, but Abbie at Seahorsesource.com said that they fill their gut within 2-4 hours and after 12 hours they metabolize a lot of what is in their gut so it is better to not wait so long.

    Updated 125G Seahorse/Soft Coral Tank

I put in flake food for the clowns on the right side of the tank. I overfeed a little, so the skunk cleaners and the other fish tend to come over to the right side. I then feed the seahorses through their feeder on the left side. The feed is very high in the water column so it's work for the...

    Updated 125G Seahorse/Soft Coral Tank

Yes, I have 4 H. Erectus. The largest one (a male) is from Seahorse.com in Hawaii (from Pete G.). He is almost 3 years old. The other three (two females and a male) are from seahorsesource.com in Florida (from Abbie). I just got them at the end of August. They all seem to be doing great. The...
