Glory days of reefing . Single ended bulbs the way to go so you don’t have to worry about any of this.

Just screw em in, take a damp cloth and wipe em down afterwards really well. Dry them with towel, done. It’s the oils from your fingers that boils over and can create hot spots on the glass.

Slow and steady, decided to just play with the halide pendant configuration. Most likely going with two pendants and three orphek 960s. It’ll be tight but it can be done.

I find that 80 is a good blend for me, gives enough room for temp probe error and still be able to ride the fence on either side. Blips in summer are gonna happen unfortunately. Give the corals a little stress so they stronger.

Exactly, this actually makes me really feel better now and maybe bump my worry meter up to about 83 degrees now. Im blasting my corals with 700 PAR as well, everything is healthy and happy. I see no issues with running warmer tanks but thats just me.

8/24/25 Went to a LFS that I’ve been talking to on and off about a storage unit full of metal halides. Ended up finding a goldmine. Brand new lumenarc pendants, brand new lumatek ballasts, 24” pavona coral skeletons, and last bit def not least a frag of Leng Sy Montipora. Good haul!
