nice setup. As far as the vortech blast, I read from reefcentral that as long as the coral is at least 8" or more from the pump, it would be ok. Some of the corals that I have are actually pretty close to the vortech, about 5-7", and they are still doing very good.

I think my UPS is a 750VA unit, almost as big as the icecap battery, and the K1 only draws several watts.

before I bought the icecap battery for the vortech, I use a computer ups to run a K1 as backup in case power fail. But now that I think of it, the K1 will probably not provide enough flow to keep the oxygen level in the 120g tank.

how about mixing some vinegar solution and add it to a spray bottle to spray on to the tank
