    Kinetic ELOS 120XL

Alright, I just got rid of the UV from this plan for now (I will create a separate plumbing for it, though I may just use Murlock to connect that up with a VarioS-2). The below is the return, drain, and emergency drain. I put a bunch of unions everywhere just in case, but let me know if I won't...

    Richie's Reefer 500

Ah that makes sense. So it's only 5 inches from a small area, otherwise there's plenty of space

    Kinetic ELOS 120XL

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I agree it's too complicated, which is why I posted it. This was an accumulation of all the feedback I've gotten put into one place, and looking at it after I did that really showed that it may be way too much. Here's the suggestions I had gotten: Run it in...

    Kinetic ELOS 120XL

Plumbing got really complicated on the return. In order to run the UV in parallel with my return, this is what I came up with... but not even sure if it's going to work. So many check valves and other crap. I think this is too complex and won't work. How can I make it simpler?

Where to find 1 1/4" threaded to 1" slip reducing bushing?

I was looking at their pricing, it's pretty expensive for something like a 3/4" union ($30). Is that right? And they also don't have what I need. I know I can get a thread to slip adapter, but it would be best to have both happening at the same time. That's why I'm looking for a reducer that...

Where to find 1 1/4" threaded to 1" slip reducing bushing?

Anyone have a good go-to place for plumbing pieces? I need a 1 1/4" male thread to 1" slip reducer. Like this, but the 1" is a slip conversion rather than a thread: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/bres-schedule-80-reducing-bushing-thread.html

    Arvin's wife's 25g lagoon tank

You'll love the VarioS pumps. I actually have a spare in perfect condition with all original box/hardware if you're looking for a backup ;)

    Richie's Reefer 500

How close to the wall is the tank? I would recommend at least 5-inches. My peninsula will be about 8" from the wall. Even though it seems like a lot, I just know I'll regret it one day.

    Reuse from tank with dinos

If you want to avoid dinoflagellates, know you may eventually get it still. The idea is to build up enough biodiversity and all that jazz before dinoflagellates can come in and take over. But if you mix anything from the two tanks, you're going to introduce it early. Even taking a glass scraper...

Red Sea Valve Swap -- Gate vs Diaphragm -- Opinions?

Swap it for a gate valve. It's not worth all the trouble dealing with their diaphragm valve.

    Kinetic ELOS 120XL

OK, I have made a few revisions to the sump. Instead of going full rimless with 3/4" walls, I'm going to go with some bracing. The bracing will help with plumbing/cable/dose/probe management. It could also be a pain in the butt if things move, but I think it should be OK. These are just my...

Anyone have the 15" Neptune LLS? Need help with dimensions and "clip" mount.

I'm working with Luna-Reef.com on a sump + ATO reservoir. I want to incorporate the Neptune LLS into my reservoir, but it's hard to know how it "mounts" to a tank. Does anyone have one that can help measure the length of area that can be submerged, and the area that needs to stay out of the...

    Any automatic feeder recommendations?

I added so much food that it has never run out before I had a shower thought about it and checked. I know that's dangerous, but this hasn't failed me yet. But I agree, setting some kind of reminder will be helpful. Like @L/B Block suggested, a reminder in apex is a good idea.

    Any automatic feeder recommendations?

There is a "window" that is clear so you can see exactly how much is left.

Best place to place probes and dosing lines?

Good word of advice. I'll research the best methods/timing for maintaining the probes.

    Kinetic ELOS 120XL

I've looked at all the "lids" possible for tanks, and none of them look great. I mean, you can't really do much with mesh and a frame to make it look as clean as no lid at all. My ELOS 120 I had awhile ago was totally open, and I think I only had 1 or 2 jumpers at most. My reefer 170 was losing...

Best place to place probes and dosing lines?

I've only ever used a temp probe in the past. The apex pro comes with pH/ORP which I have no idea what to do with (though I guess pH can be a big deal, though I have never once in my life tested or cared about it... maybe I should). I think having a salinity probe would be nice too. I've had a...

I'm so sorry to hear @Srt4eric. That is incredibly sad news. Dogs are family. I can't imagine what you're going through.
