    Alex’s IM 150 EXT

I recently changed how I dose two parts (Balling light without Magnesium) to the tank. Many months ago, I stopped dosing alkalinity through BOLUS in this tank (still in the frag tank) and changed how I dose calcium. I currently dose both 24/7 into the tank. I saw someone with a relatively...

    Alex’s IM 150 EXT

The latest ICP-OES + new MS testing. Some concerning high traces of Iodine, Zinc, Manganese, and iron require me to test again soon for confirmation. I have a few ideas about the reason: I significantly overdosed on a product/FM coral balance + MinS the night before the test in the morning...

    Recommendation for gravel vacuum

Second, that - very effective, and a good value.

Can we do a car wash event at our next get together?

I always drive to Marin for a good car wash so this is interesting.

Garage Coral Farm & 10' Reef Tank

Same with cooler temperatures, I believe, but 30C should be no issue temporarily, but I would still not intentionally run it that hot if you can just run strong fans and drop the the temp a few degrees.

Most epic Cocktails and Coral Talk event to date!

Why is most English-speaking reef literature outdated? Do we need a different way to communicate high-quality content outside the traditional print media or wild west social media channels?

Looking for pictures (or videos) of successfully run tanks up to 50 gallon

And very good in making people starting new projects haha, he talked me into the IM 150 :), I was not planning to have such a big tank at the time (no regrets though)

Looking for pictures (or videos) of successfully run tanks up to 50 gallon

I knew you had that tank, and I blocked you since I saw this haha. Also, I am glad it did not come with the pre-cut plumbing and the sump (I am well aware of the flaws of the RFS) as otherwise I would have probably bought it right away. Again, I am not planning to setup another tank - I am...

Looking for pictures (or videos) of successfully run tanks up to 50 gallon

Thank you, and no, I am not planning (yet) to set up a third tank (although I would consider replacing the nano with the IM 50 eventually). I am only looking for nice pictures and videos of successful 50g and smaller tanks, ideally mixed reefs with fish.

Looking for pictures (or videos) of successfully run tanks up to 50 gallon

I am doing a little side project and would be very interested in getting pictures or videos or links on Instagram etc to smaller sized tanks up to 50 gallons. Ideally, pictures or videos of this tank (I know this tank is larger than 50 gallons due to its sump):

    Hello everyone

Welcome!! This looks like a REALLY nice tank. Nothing better than the anticipation :). Starting with a big tank such as this will be very challenging but seems like you have pro help, which you truly need at this point. +1 on the journal - best to start doing it today. +1 on the bottle...

    Tank parameters help request

One more thing - for cyano, my theory is that lack of strong flow is a major contributor. Increasing flow significantly can get rid of cyano rather quickly in my opinion. However, in your case, getting iodine in a good range should help a lot.

    Tank parameters help request

You should really get your salinity in check. I do despise the hydrometer but it is peerless in terms of cost and accuracy. They next best thing which comes close is far more expensive. The salt is terrible. Adding 12dkh results in massive precipitation unless your tank is full of acros which...

Doing the club a big favor

We appreciate his. Maybe we can include in our standard narrative for the frag swaps to kindly ask people to ABSOLUTELY NOT USE THESE unless frags are not encrusted on the plug yet.

    SupraSaltyReefer's TankAPalooza Tang Addiction

Who makes better pumps in your opinion? Or let me rephrase: who makes the best return pumps in your opinion? Generally agree though, that moving water from the sump to the tank and back does not need such an expensive pump.

Fungus and Coralline Algae on NY Nick's Torch

Hydrogen peroxide is a good recommendation to get rid of the coralline algae, did not think of this, thanks! Will need to look at this again when I take it out, thanks for pointing this out.

Fungus and Coralline Algae on NY Nick's Torch

Seems isolated to this one, which I have the longest though.
