It would be nice if the mixing pump intake was screened or something. Several times I’ve had a snail or floating debris get stuck in it and stop the mixing. For that reason I have the mixing pump turn off for an hour each night to let whatever is there crawl or float away.

I like the pump outflow deflector in the new tube piece since it gets the water swirling more than the pump alone would. I wonder if the bottom twisty piece comes off (without breaking), that would give you the deflector without the hole size limiter.

They lose arm tips if you look at them funny. Not necessarily the case that your tank isn’t suitable. And especially not the case that another tank will be better.
