Coral IDs for the upcoming swap

But we have lots of beautiful coral that’s been growing in tanks and being widely shared for many years, with very little value. In fact it is the easy growing and generous sharing that makes them have very little value. I myself have locally devalued coral by growing and sharing it widely...

Coral IDs for the upcoming swap

It’s so fun to see the exact same impossible to resolve argument come up over and over and over. The people who take the lineage (as opposed to the coral) super seriously are the ones who either overpay because of the lineage, or overprice because of it. Since the lineage and name increase the...

Cotton candy torch - one head less happy than the other

J/K couldn’t resist :) It looks happy enough in the video, just not as large?

    Reef 3D printing request thread

Those look good. I took the Philistine approach with double sided velcro tape and dangling outlets.

    Reef 3D printing request thread

Me too, which is why I asked for links or pics so we can see what it is. Not just to be able to print it but to be able to see what we’re talking about and if I might want one too. I assume others might be curious as well.

    New display at HTA

Awesome, following along. Looks like it’ll be where the wall with dry goods was right around to the right as you walk in to the main back room, behind the register area. It would be so cool if you could have a peninsula type tank there where you can see through from front of store behind the...

RSVP BY 6/20 for the 6/22 Members-Only Frag Swap at Mission Blue

As I recall we did away with that rule. Instead, we just un-bonused the corals that people were bringing a lot of.

    Sulfamic acid to clean pumps?

Yep looks like that’s their name for them. They help a lot for me for making maintenance easier (not for directing flow). I let them accumulate corraline to ward off algae from the surface.

    Sulfamic acid to clean pumps?

I noticed using the optional top shade/flow plastic things on the Maxspect gyres keeps the pump part largely shaded and allows it to go longer between cleanings.

    Sunrun/PGE Solar Panels

@NickRoseSN1985 If you haven’t already, and if are ok with the brand at this point, worth getting a quote from Tesla for solar. My next door neighbor is getting quotes for solar right now and just yesterday told me “Tesla bid beats everyone else by 30%. Pretty amazing.” I would be shocked if...

    ABC Reagents

https://abcreagents.com/ I don’t think Kenny carries it anymore, though last time I asked he said he might again at some point. @under_water_ninja

    ABC Reagents

Did they say they were scaling down? Might just be tired of packing orders and talking to customers (lol).

    ABC Reagents

No it’s definitely for the Trident. CoralVue has been selling ABC reagents for a while, generally with just a small markup (like $10) but can often get free shipping. Just that CoralVue only currently sells their combo sets A+B+C, whereas the ABC Reagents guy also sells sets of just A or just...

    ABC Reagents

CoralVue also doesn’t sell the single reagent types, like just A for example. Hopefully that will change? It’s one of the reasons to use ABC reagents over Neptune’s.

    Brine shrimp

Aiptasia LOVE live baby brine shrimp. If you have Aiptasia you don’t want, I don’t recommend feeding it. I tried a bunch of ways of hatching them, the best by far was: Ziss hatchery https://www.aquariumcoop.com/products/ziss-brine-shrimp-hatchery Aquarium Co-op eggs (these eggs specifically)...
