I suggest keeping it simple and not putting additional requirements on the hosts. It’s already a lot of work and quite generous just to host a stop on the tour. For more detailed info you can look at their tank journal or ask them whatever individual questions come up.

The Hanna Checktemp is also NIST traceable (aka calibrated). I have one and it as or more reliable than the club’s NIST traceable thermometer (which I also bought), at least in my experience. I’ve tested them in a lot of permutations, though it was a few years ago.

Those look like mini feather duster/tube worms in the sump rather than vermetids. Easier to tell when they are happy under water. Little white fans come out of the tips vs the snot line vermetids use. The feather duster version doesn’t harm anything but can clog pipes.

Too bad they are so far behind with the replacements. I used the service when it first started (had a bad solenoid) and it worked great at that time. The fact that they are far behind on a service that couldn’t be more straightforward is a terrible sign that they are not prioritizing customer...
