    bee505 130g Tank

@Enderturtle That first pic is a rainbow crush. Had it for about 2 years. But the orange skirt is tucked in, it's trying to reach the rock to spread out. Thanks for the advice on the aiptasia. I've also tried Aiptasia X, but like @Kmooresf , the aiptasia comes back after a week. I might try to...

    bee505 130g Tank

Things are starting to settle in. Unfortunately, I lost my large Miyagi Tort colony last week. I guess I can’t complain since that I only lost one colony during the tank transfer. The tank is also becoming an aiptasia farm. I dropped 10 berghia nudibranchs in the tank and it did nothing. A...

MH / LED usage in 2016

I should have been a bit more specific. On my 36" tank, my MH/T5 light fixture has 2x150w MH plus 4x39w T5. My T5 only fixture had 6x39w T5. I agree, not a fair comparison.

MH / LED usage in 2016

Tried all 3. I have been using T5 for over 5 years now, I am still using T5. If $ wasn't the problem, I would switch back to MH/T5 in a heart beat.

    Starphire vs. Standard Glass

Depending on the cost of the regular glass vs. starphire glass. I personally cannot notice the different between regular and starphire. Would I pay $100 more to have starphire, maybe. I wouldn't pay anymore than that. I've owned an Oceanic non starphire tank in the past and I own a Keith Grandt...

    bee505 130g Tank

It finally happened. I was able to fill the tank. I used 2 jacks and a 4x4 cross beam to support the floor in the crawl space. Super sturdy, can probably hold an elephant. Tank transferred finally happened. It took about a day to make the water and bringing it to the right salinity. After I...

    bee505 130g Tank

Good eye, but no. The previous owners of the house opened up the floor plans by knocking down some walls and adding a counter top. The dining room table area was re-positioned. I think it was just a cost effective way to keep the light above the dining table without messing with the electricals.

    bee505 130g Tank

I debated between steel and wood, but ultimately decided on wood. I had a few quotes on steel stands that were way out of my price range. I have a 48" ATI 6 bulb light fixture hanging above with a 48" blue reef brite attached to the fixture.

    bee505 130g Tank

Finally coming around to complete my dream tank. I decided on a custom tank 60x24x21 built by a local builder Keith Grandt. The tank has 3 sided starphire glass with an external center overflow. The stand was built also by a local builder Mario. I am extremely happy with the quality of the tank...

    Nly04's tank

Those jaw breakers are very hardy. They should be fine. It might take some time to acclimate. They like low to medium flow in my tank. Very nice setup.
