    Aptasia!

My vote is on peppermint . I have super high flow in my tank and Berghia didn’t do well in the last. Peppermint will keep aptasia under control but not 100% eradication. That’s good enough for me. I love CBB but it’s a high maintenance fish. Filefish didn’t work for me as well because of the...

    Ecoflow battery w/ Apex EB832

Have you tried it? You just open up the frunk cover/panel to access the 12v battery. Just hookup the inverter directly?

    Ecoflow battery w/ Apex EB832

For low cost option, get a battery air pump . It will keep your fish and coral alive for a couple of days . Good thing is we don’t get too cold here. Hot water bottle float in the tank help but it’s a lot of work.

    Ecoflow battery w/ Apex EB832

Not meant to hijack the tread but I am hoping to tap to my EV for extended blackout. I have both egolf and tesla m3. Reading online I should safely do it by connecting a 500w inverter directly to the golf 12v battery and leave the car on in accessory mode. The main high voltage battery will keep...

    Alkatronic replacement ph probe

Thanks . The blue lab probe is 2x the cost of Milwaukee. Hmm I’m thinking going cheap but replace more often.

    Alkatronic replacement ph probe

I think my ph probe is misbehaving. The ph value drift over time and I’m tired of calibrating every 2 months. Looking for replacement. I understand the original is single junction probe. It is compatible with double junction probe? Is all probe crated equal? I assume I get a good brand like...

    Thoughts on ceramic media?

I think you're specifically looking for block shape versus loose media. For loose media, you can;t beat porous rock like Seachem Matrix. Its basically overprice pumice rock, but its still much cheaper and last forever compare to ceramic media.

    Ecoflow battery w/ Apex EB832

If you plug in the pump via the DC connector , not through ac plug, the battery last way longer . No loss via DC-AC-DC conversion. My tiny 300 wh battery will run the flow pump for over a day

    Pressurized kalk reactor

I’m adding fresh kalk once a week. Plan to move it to once every 2 weeks . Not every water refill. In my setup, water refill everyday so manually adding kalk defeat the purpose of automation. I’m not testing for saturation. My comparison baseline is based on my old setup where I mix a big batch...

    Pressurized kalk reactor

ph low-high without kalk - 7.5 to 7.8 After dosing - 7.9 to 8.0 I’m only dosing at night. From the limited info i read, ph 7.5 is unlikely and likely a probe issue. I calibrated the probe 2 months ago.

    Pressurized kalk reactor

If anyone interested, here's the part list this project. I already have Hydros control , but any control ecosystem should work. You also need any dosing pump for the actual kalk dosing. I used Kamoer X1 . https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9XCPSSS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title...

    Pressurized kalk reactor

Happy to report the system now working well. I cannot say i'm dosing fully saturated kalk, but 1. alk is consistent. 2. i get a 0.5ph boast from the kalk The trick is stir slowly for a longer duration (1 hour).
