    Metal halide and ballast - Sunlight Supply Maristar 48" - 2x250W DE & 2-T5

10000 years from this post someone will be digging through the ancient ruins of what seems the small town of San Francisco while looking for the mythical leaning tower of San Francisco; the dig site will be off by two, maybe three miles due to the geographical shifting of the land. That person...

    Alk/Ca Maintenance Suggestions

I think GEO are pretty good and size-wise could fit in there.

    Metal halide and ballast - Sunlight Supply Maristar 48" - 2x250W DE & 2-T5

Even the ballast has to be a sought after item as if that is a BlueWave2 or 7, I believe is the correct ballast to fire Radium bulbs.

Neptune Flow Sensor size for 3/4" plumbing?

I would; gate valves are much easier to fine tune than ball valves. Ball valves are better to shut the flow completely, 1/4 turn and flow is off. A manifold will loose flow with the multiple connections, Tees, Elbows, reducers and what not. The Gate Valves allow you to compensate each outlet...

Neptune Flow Sensor size for 3/4" plumbing?

Instead of a ball valve, I’d suggest a gate valve.

Does a Kessil light bar exist?

Wasn’t Aquatic Life making a light fixture to support different brand LED units? I think the light bars had T5 on the outer sides and the middle track was to mount LED units if different manufacturers

Anyone know anything about the mighty magnet?

I may still have one; put it away since I didn’t want little fingers messing with it; scary picture. I have to check the basement to make sure it’s still there. Although they are ugly in design, they are mighty as the name puts it. A thing to consider with magnets, floating or not, is to not...

    Feeding cycled substrate in storage?

IMHO, when that happens, don’t immediately put corals in; 2” is not a DSB but you may still experience some bacteria die off. I would use porous rock to have a healthy population of bacteria and the very top layer of the substrate

    Feeding cycled substrate in storage?

Question is, How deep the substrate will be? If it mimics a deep sand bed and you later disturb it to transfer it to the new system, it will be really bad. You can have rock running and drop some fish food once in while to feed the bacteria. The substrate/sand, you can rinse it well, air dry it...

...Here's the build thread so you can get an idea of the "modular" base. Yet another cube, small cube thing in progress.

150 gal cube from 7 stills

BTW, @jstiltne the base of the cabinet comes apart from the rest of the cabinet; it is secured with star drive screws, either T20 or T25 driver bit. I built it that way so it could pass through small door openings (<36" wide) The PVC liner tub can be removed with suction cups.

150 gal cube from 7 stills

Mike is correct. When you read of catastrophes in regards of aquariums, it becomes a bad dream for many. I’ve read about Marineland, Red Sea, a Canadian manufacturer that I can’t recall the name (huge tank) and most impact on me of a tank failing, was Mike’s @sfsuphysics We bought brand new...

[Urgent] How to get current clownfish to accept a mate?

I've used in the past a clear container big enough for the new mate; drilled several holes on the container to allow flow and just let magic happen after a little time; sometimes a day or two but it has worked.
