Fed Rod's food and a bunch of LPS died

Cross referenced with @finalphaze987 off thread. Both of us had issues correlated with the herbivore blend feeding. Looks to be different lots.

Fed Rod's food and a bunch of LPS died

Hmmm. Very interesting. Edit: adding more to this, my bag is almost used. I've had multiple LPS die offs though in my display awhile back, and looking back they were correlated with feeding this. I didn't really connect the dots because I assumed it was me overthinking it or because I had...

Fed Rod's food and a bunch of LPS died

To clarify, there was no spot feeding. Broadcast fed. Dumped into both tanks after letting it thaw enough to separate when stirred. Spot feeding or not I'd love to see a separate thread created for.

Fed Rod's food and a bunch of LPS died

I mostly fed Reef Jerky + freeze dried mysis in my frag tank. I mostly feed TDO in my display. Sometimes seaweed. Historically I've had weird issues with LPS, particularly some torches. Things have been stable, but I accidentally had N&P almost bottom out in my frag tank due to adding lights...

DIY RO Filter - Flow restrictor sizing & pure to waste ratio

RE getting numbers higher, my understanding is booster pump is for sure a key part of that, as can things like water temp help. Exact targets I think the membranes say. However at some point the more you push through, the more you have things pass through, which then get caught by your DI...

    external liquid level sensors

Related to @ReyDeFarts point, what are you expecting to connect this sensor to? For my use-case, I have a bunch of ESP32s that these can be used with, and there's some stock ESPHome recipes one can use in combination with Home Assistant.

    external liquid level sensors

I've used both. I have not found them to be easy to get working. Particularly they aren't going to measure minor fluctuations, and getting them tuned to the specific container I found to be a PITA. I was hoping to use them as a backup float sensor, but eventually gave up. They certainly do...

    Knock off / Clone MP10- MP-40

Reviving an old thread. I am debating refurbishing some old mp10s I have. I need to replace one dry side for sure, another is kinda loud, and I need to replace a wetside. Dry sides cost almost as much as one of these jebaos. Anyone have a long term review? MP10 equivalent and MP40 equivalent...

    Fragging advice for this zoa.

Somewhat joking, but assuming they grow fast like normal zoas, the other option is put on gloves & goggles and crack the rock with a chisel and hammer. The rock should crack or shatter, and you then have a bunch of frags. Likely would damage some, but they're zoas and will grow back anyway.

    LF someone with CNC experience

Caveat that if you're doing acrylic glue-ups I believe you're not supposed to use a laser cutter. It doesn't give an appropriate edge unless you do post-processing. Might matter less for this sort of use-case though versus something holding water.

    Richie's 48x24x12 frag tank

That is so large I don't even know what I'm looking at. (that's what she said)

    Richie's 48x24x12 frag tank

Lol, thread race. That's almost exactly the one I bought and have sitting in my garage. Do you run it on a smart plug? My plan was run my booster pump and that valve off the same smart plug.

    Richie's 48x24x12 frag tank

Valve -> first round of filter -> booster pump -> solenoid pressure sensor-> ... -> float valve in reservoir Something like that is my setup. I can't remember where exactly my solenoid is connected. I like to have the valve manual. I find I get a small trickle periodically without it. I also...

    Richie's 48x24x12 frag tank

Pegboard is Ikea Skadis. I designed a pass through that's screws tight. I 3d print them and drill a 1.5in hole through the board, then install to route cables behind. I can just barely get full size plugs through that. 1.75in would probably be better, or ovalized. I installed the pegboard on...

    Richie's 48x24x12 frag tank

Went out of town and inadvertently had let my ATO reservoir empty. Luckily I have RODI lines run so my neighbor just had to flip on a valve at the sink. Unfortunately took a long time to get her to the point she could do it. Partially because recently I'd created this giant mess...

I'd manually test the alk to double check. Very possible for the alkatronic to get a weird set of readings too.

    Oceanic 40gallon Sps tank.

Cabinet looks great! If possible, consider moving the power strip and electronics onto the cabinet. The most likely water spill is over the edge of an aquarium and onto the stand. Once on that stand it then will waterfall off the edges. If the electronics are on the edges, they then get water...

9 AI LED Units - Want to Give Away

If you're ok in a little overhead, especially if you have any original proofs of purchase, I've had a lot of good success with AI warranty support. I would almost guarantee if you sent them in they'd offer to let you swap for new ones for a fee. Then can sell em. Bit of a rigamarole, but nice...
