looks like im shopping for a large shop vac this weekend. I could remove most of my frags and wrap the others with wet towels. Then drain and vacuum the sand. Any adverse affect on doing this all at once vs syphoning every other week?

Thanks Mike, this is the consensus that i got from everyone. I'll spread the water change in the course of a month (aiming for a weekly) until all sand are gone. I guess the biggest worry that i have is, since the sand is so course (5mm) hopefully i would have hard time syphoning it out and...

That's probably the safest bet. I think im going to try that in a course of this month, until i remove all of them. thanks Bryan.

Well, it has come down to this... I have been fighting what i thought to be Hair algea bloom. But, turned out to be combination of dinoflagellate and hair. I have been reducing feeding, skimming wet, added carbon and decrease lights. the dino receeded dramaticly, but now I have Cryno. Searching...

I say support your local reef store.. Robert, Carson and Jess alway has some nice stuff for way less than anyone online. AND you dont have to worry about the corals arriving dead or browned out. You'll know exactly what your getting. .. just my 2 cents..

I would go with 2 mp40. But then again, i dont have any experience with MP60 to compare.. but love mines on my tank.
