    Any pond experts?

I had 2 bucket ponds (50 gal or so) in Hawaii in full sun. In one, I planted large (4 ft.) variety amazon sword that outgrew my FW tank and floating water cabbage/lettuce (?) , and in the other I grew lily. Both also contained whiteclouds, a small cold water chinese river fish. Very hardy and...

    Misterious Zoo Disappearance

I have noticed in the past that if my zoas don't get good circulation from well oxygenated water, they tend to shrink and disappear. It especially happens to the ones sitting on the sand bed. Just my personal observation.

Dieing Plate Coral need some pointers.

How did your plate coral do? If it got better, then perhaps the scoly will too. If water conditions are on, and it is eating well, then it may just need time.

DBTC RBTA How do you pronounce "anemone" ?

A little drastic to use hydrochloric acid don't you think? You must really hate it. I have a little patch in one tank that I keep pruning back (more like pulling out), but it doesn't bother me too much. I actually think it looks like grass. It's better than slimy hair algae and cyano anyday. :)...

Please help me get rid of clam hitch hikers.

Hi reefdan. I do know that it can be done if the clam shuts tightly. I have done it in the past with this clam and with no ill effects. Air bubbles are a major concern though, so I don't like to do it unless absolutely necessary. I believe the hitch hikers have to go because not only are they...

    Anemone Problems - HELP!

I second what Apon says. Things are not looking good if your anemone is disintegrating. Do large water change (make sure salinity is at the correct levels), stop feeding, check parameters and keep the tank stable (like Mr. Ugly says). It would be best if you didn't keep BTAs for a while until...

I love this candy cane. It is sooo bright and easy to keep. :) I need to return a frag. Isn't there a DBTC thread for this somewhere?

Please help me get rid of clam hitch hikers.

Hi Norm, If the clam stays tightly closed, do you think I can run it under the tap? Or would that be too scary because of the chlorine in the water? It would make cleaning it a lot simpler.

Please help me get rid of clam hitch hikers.

Here's the picture. Sorry it isn't great, but you can see the aiptasia, the 2 spots of pocillipora and two large vermetid worms (they are the pink spots near the edge of the clam.
