While I love the clean look of closed loops, it would take an immense amount of power to equal the amount of flow you can attain with low wattage powerheads we have available to us today. If there were DC options that could match the flow you'd get from a hammerhead I'd say go for it...but...

I'm currently trying to find something to put in the plank for my CBB to wean off frozen foods. Have you had any luck with any freeze dried ones your would take to?

If it's the TDO ones, I doubt it. Freeze dried mysis go through it without issue so you should be fine.

I have two. 1 loaded with reef Jerky and the other with TDO pellets. Initially, when I loaded both in one plank, it dispensed way more pellets and less of the jerky. I found the amount very inconsistent during dry runs, leading me to purchase the second one.

Are the powdered foods enough to sustain your nutrients without fish or are you having to dose?
