ya, well. i did it. mine is a deresa clam, dont know how much that matters. another clam of mine i just kinda laid it against a rock so gravity would force it to stay upright

i put a lil tiny tiny piece of the stick epoxy on its shell and stuck it to a rock, havent had an issue in awhile except when it grew and the broke the epoxy piece, so i put another piece on. but it culd be because too much light or not enough. so check that first.

didnt i say that? i said kalk also raises alk.....

they r the same thing. just different forms of calcium. only thing kalk does is it also raises Alk (dKh). and if you add calcium, dose with a 2 part.

well, rinsing in tap water will kill 100% of the bacteria due to chlorine and chloramines. i know the same bacteria is found in fresh and saltwater. its all the same bacteria as far as the type (nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter). so not sure how much will be killed in ro/di. if the sand is still...
