A bit confused about amps and dosing pump flow

Thanks for the quick responses how would I do that? At $30 a pop oh well, considering the pump will be on 5-10 min a day max by the time it breaks I'll be in college with a different setup. thanks

A bit confused about amps and dosing pump flow

So I ordered these dosing pumps a while back and now finally have time to wire them up. http://www.reefshops.com/dosing-pump-peristaltic-dosing-pump-for-aquarium-lab.html The pumps are just powered by a standard 12v power supply but my question lies amp wise. The flow rate is listed as...

New reef guy needs some advice

I'd get some more/bigger powerheads, flow is a bit on the low side IMO, unless you plan on scaping very openly.

    Copperband Butterfly

Another option would be to try this product: http://reefbuilders.com/2011/01/27/h2ocean-pro-reef-paste/ I haven no personal experience with this so take it with a grain of salt, but it looks very promising and seems to stimulate natural feeding behaviors. Here's a video of it in action...

Flow decisions for a 120G - Guess I'll turn this into a build thread!

As flow goes, I'd vote for the mp40 too, however, another much cheaper option would be to get the cheap ebay power heads. yes they're ugly, yes they're huge, yes they're crappy quality. BUT they move some serious flow for the price, at 35 bucks for 3600gph (IIRC) they're quite a deal. You can...

    Some ich advice needed

Dig a hole in the corner of your sandbed, drain the tank 95%. The fish are forced to hide in the hole since its the only spot with water left. Scoop em out. Would be a pain to drain the tank, but would be much less stressful than chasing the fish for them and you.

    Some ich advice needed

WWSMD? What Would Super Mom do? I don't think cleaning the tank with bleach would be a good idea :P

BAYMAC2011 - What would you like to see?

+1 to some nps, Red Epizoanthus would be very nice :) I'd like to see some aquarium specific induction lamps, not slightly realistic though. Is there going to be an aquascape contest this year again? I completely missed it last year

Small bumb http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10001_10001_1950913_-1 The power supply above does fit the vortech driver and has been working flawlessly for me the last couple of weeks

    Interesting critters for frag tank?

Labracinus cyclophthalmus aka "Red dottyback" or "Dampiera grouper" Too aggressive and territorial for the average reef tank, but the males can be quite stunning bright red. I'm not sure about your tank size but they get around 7in.

Algae Turf Scrubbers - myth or reality

Not to beat a dead horse (although that's what this thread has been doing the last couple of pages) but your tank example doesn't prove much if anything. Take for example this tank: http://reefbuilders.com/2011/01/04/sreef-stunning-skimmerless-reef-tank-marko-haga/ No skimmer, very low...
