Best reef read in a long time

Although I agree the article features a nice twist and had me cracking up, if we're gonna blame macro photography we might as well blame photographs in general, or color photographs, or forums, or the internet in general, or a dozens of other things. I also don't like that PS is put down in...

    Who has non-photosynth gorgonians?

Great when you write a long reply and your browser freezes :tired: Anyways: -Gorgs will need a lot of flow, generally a lot more than any SPS can handle -Keep the tank dimly lit, although the corals generally couldn't care less, this will prevent algae growth -Tank should be fed 6-10...

    Who has non-photosynth gorgonians?

The difficulty really depends on the species, Cirrhipathes spiralis are probably the easiest to take care off since they take quite large foods such as chopped mysis. The next level would be gorgs like diogorgonia, and menella that take oysterfeast, rotifers, and cyclop-eeze and are quite hardy...

    White Lightning Sponge

http://www.azoox.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=107 The tank is fed heavily with Shellfish Diet, OysterFeast, Rotifeast, FM foods, and some other products I can't remember on the top off my head.

    White Lightning Sponge

The main problem with these corals are that the parazoathus usually grow faster than the sponge. The sponge thus eventually dies and because the zoanthids can't survive without their host die too. There are some success stories with a lot of phyto dosing but they are few and far in between. :(...

    White Lightning Sponge

The sponges do live without the parazoanthus. There has been a study done about the symbiotic relationship. However you'll won't be able to access it :(. The abstract does give some insight though: http://scholar.google.com/scholar?cluster=1407334929947852943&hl=en&as_sdt=0,5 I'll try...

    White Lightning Sponge

Definitely something missing in our tanks, otherwise this species would've been extinct by now. Could be either lack of DOC, Phyto, trace elements, or flow, my guess is mixture of all of the above but who knows? I could also be that the sponge grows slow anyways and that we are just feeding the...

I don't get why people are getting so upset, maybe their offended? Its just a blog the guy felt like voicing his opinions. Pic of the tank - how to catch the real colour?

I think the main reason that people feel PS is cheating in this hobby is because a lot of vendors will oversaturate their pictures to a point where it looks FAR from reality. When the buyer gets the actual coral he feels ripped off, and rightfully so, but instead of realizing that it just has...
