Caulerpa alternatives that fill the same niche.

Cheato has always grown really fast and well for me. The things I don't like about cheato is how much I always have to throw out and the fact that I could never get any of my tangs to eat it. I miss my NC days when all the calerpas were legal and commonly used.

    Jeff's 40 SPS Tank

NEED YOUR THOUGHTS AND INPUT! - As I start to pull everything together to figure out how I want to aquascape this tank I was thinking about trying something that I don’t think I’ve ever seen done in all my tank thread trolling over the years. First off I will not be doing a sand bed in the...

December 11th BAR meeting Pot Luck Food items

We should do a abalone dive club event. I usually go every year but missed it this year. A club dive could be fun... followed by a BBQ with our spoils :)

    Water Jugs

I like to include a few pounds of lead with my water because I ate paint chips as a child... :) no but really... water weighs like 8.35p/g right? Salt water is a little heavier than that. The 5g BL jugs hold more than 5 gallons... 40-50 pounds per jug sounds about right. :tired:

    Kona Manta ray dive

I love diving but the deep blue your talkin about gives me the shudders... there's just something really creepy about being in water that is that deep.

    Water Jugs

LOL... I think you put a whole lot more wear and tear on your BL jugs then I do. :) I've had mine for at least 7 years and they are as supple as the day I bought them... ;) Heck carrying two 5 gallon jugs is around 90-100 pounds right? especially if it's filled to the very top. Carrying...

    Plywood 120G sump, about $150

Heck if (when) I did a plywood coral flat tank there would be no sides with glass at all. I would just limit myself to top down views and have a nice viewing apparatus to float on the surface. Thankfully I have some carpentry background so I have a good idea on what and how I'd laminate...

    Water Jugs

I have two of those I use to fill up with water for when I go camping. They're not bad... I've had them crack on me before though and I've had to replace them. I've had my blue life's for about 7-8 years now if I recall correctly. Never had one crack or leak before.

    Water Jugs

I've been using the Blue Life ones forever. They are some heavy sunvumwiches when filled up at just 5 gallons... I wouldn't want to use 7 gallon containers. I think I have about 20 of the blue life containers. I only ever use 4-6 of them. PM me if you need some and I can probably let some go.

    Plywood 120G sump, about $150

Ya... the combo of plywood tank and glass viewing panel is a bit intimidating. I love the large tank plywood threads on RC though. Seen more than a few of them end in leaks and dead threads as people disappear from RC in failure and shame... lol. A large coral flat with no viewing panels on...

    Plywood 120G sump, about $150

That's great... I've thought a few times of trying my plywood skills out on a 8'x4'x16" tall coral flat... someday.
