    Carbon Dosing FW Tanks

I was researching biopellet use in fw on my tanganyikan groups. The manufacturers state that they will work in fw. I was just too lazy to follow through and my systems run great with 50% waterchanges

    Could it really be?!?

no I didn't qt. I know, shame shame.... I always qt anything going into an established tank, but didn't really worry about it as they were the first residents in the tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Could it really be?!?

That one of my 3 first saltwater fish introduced ich to my DT already lol?! Is anyone that unlucky? Hopefully I'm tripping. All 3 fish are eating wonderfully, very active, and don't show any listless behavior or scratching. However, I am noticing spots, only on the fins at this point of...

    DSB is fuge???

I think through my limited research, I've decided that I don't know all of what I want....lol. For now, a place for macro to grow for n/p control and a place to grow pods is about all I'm after. If a rdsb will have a great benefit in n/p reduction and pod population than I'm all for it. I hope...

    DSB is fuge???

Hey everyone. Quick question - what's in your fuge, and does anyone run a dsb in the fuge? A fella that works at my lfs is a strong proponent of such practice. I take these folks with a healthy dose of skepticism so I'd appreciate some input. So far, all I'm running in my fuge is chaeto with a...

    Dipping toes into salty water...

I ended up running a herbie. It was not loud at all, but there were sooo many microbubbles from the drains that weren't dissipating before the pump section. Works great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Dipping toes into salty water...

Thanks! Seeing this skimmer in person makes me really happy I didn't get the larger model. It's a lot bigger than I imagined. I've never owned a skimmer, but I've been keeping fish for over 10 years and I feel like I know a good product when I see one. That being said, I feel like it is well...

    Help with sump design

That was my only concern with feeding the fuge via the return, as I am using a mag 3 as my return pump, simply because I had it lying around. But, we will see. If I need a stronger pump it's easy enough to swap out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Help with sump design

I had a few guys on rc say the same thing. It seemed simple enough so I went for it. Some reasoning was to help keep the fuge from collecting too much detritus by at least having water pass through the skimmer first Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Help with sump design

Lol - Thanks! I'm hoping to fill the tank with sw this week as I'd like to pick some rocks up from both a member and some from a LFS here in sonoma county this weekend. Just need to wait a few days for the silicone to cure and then shes ready to cycle. Going to do the first fill up with natural...

    Help with sump design

Baffles installed. I decided on sump A with the fuge to be fed by the return pump via a "t" fitting and ball valve. Thanks for the help everyone! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
