3D printing 5 gallon ATO reservoir. Experimental.

I HIGHLY recommend coating your container to make it water proof long term. While there are materials that are good for water tight containers, I don't trust petg long term. It's hydroscopic and layer adhesion will eventually fail. If you continue with petg, over extrude and increase overlaps...

    I'm back!

The tank is slowly recovering. A couple of coral I thought were gone had enough tissue survive that they are slowly growing back. I'll take a full set of pics tomorrow when the lights aren't in evening blue. I'm moving the clownfish and cardinal from my daughters biocube to my tank this...

Help IDing this predator that just ate my Maxima clam

You can probably build a trap (or have one 3d printed) and bait it at night to see what comes out in the morning. It may not be an eradication solution but it should give you a clue about population in the system.

Help IDing this predator that just ate my Maxima clam

Dipping doesn't kill most things. It only stuns them so they are easily removed. A water dental pick is AMAZING for cleaning corals and stuff in a dip. I know flatworms are very succeptable to osmotic shock so a freshwater dip is a death sentence.

At least it's all in English now. I used to have to take screenshots and have my phone translate for me. Lol

FYI: knock off xr30 on sale.

I ran their Kessel knock off for about a year. The power supply died and they refused to do anything about it. I bought a generic one that works fine. I switched to a used kessil a360we and everything in the tank was much happier within a month. I refuse to support kessil for discontinuing...

    Reefin’ on a Budget

I have had a lot of success with matching clownfish and anemones. I feed the tank lightly for a few days, make everyone hungry. I only feed mysis shrimp in the anemones tentacles. Eventually the clownfish figure out that they can get the food while other fish avoid them. Once they feel that...

    Reefin’ on a Budget

Lots of success in this hobby was reached on a road of bones. You're not the only one that went through these struggles and you won't be the last. Reefing on a budget while learning is hard. The first year is full of flare ups anyhow so at least your past that part and have some nice mature...

    Ozone reactor (DIY)

I have a couple x1c. Without an enclosure, the tpu is easier to use. Flexibility will probably make it easier to clean too. Maybe a series of stacking plates that can be lifted out (like a TLF media reactor?)

    Ozone reactor (DIY)

Polycarbonate also has an A rating for ozone compatibility. That's much easier to work with.
