I don't have any experience with the DC maxi Jett. I would fell better running two of the maxi jett pumps over an S2 that's overkill.

Gyres: recommendations and LF one (buy, borrow)

My jebao scp-120 are dead silent. They are also complete overkill for a 4' 100g tank.

    Michael's 300 In Vegas

All one way valves are error prone but even a failed one way is going to be beneficial. If you fork over the $ for a one way valve with unions, at least it's easy to clean every 6 months

What do you use to dose ALK, CA (& MG)

    First Reefing adventure.. 65G AIO

Frozen mysis and live brine and baby brine have always been my preferred QT food. Even live blackworms. Everything I can to trigger a feeding response. I hate QT fish. It's my least favorite part of the hobby. Remember that they like to feed often but you have to scoop out the un eaten food or...

2 Part Supplements - BRS vs. Live Aquaria?

I used deicing magnesium for a while. It obviously had impurities. I never saw a change in the tank when I switched to brs magnesium but it brought more peace of mind.

2 Part Supplements - BRS vs. Live Aquaria?

I'd need to do the math to compare the concentration but it seems like it's close to the same price per material by weight. Are you unsatisfied with the brs cacium?

Training a foxface to eat nuisance algae

As for the hair algae, my understanding is that mature growth of the algae is less tasty compared to fresh growth. It seems that manual removal is the best treatment for the long stuff and herbivores for the new growth.

Training a foxface to eat nuisance algae

The nice thing is they will eat anything eventually. The downside is they will eat anything eventually. They are like sharks, they take a bite then decide if they like it or want to spit it out. Don't put any single polyp zoa frags in the tank with a fox face ‍
