Anyone here brave enough to re-model the kitchen by themself??

I agree with Norm on spouses and remodeling. Be careful with the granite you use also. Some of the prefab stuff tends to be a lot less forgiving when you cut it. It is also not as thick. Also keep in mind, polishing the rough edges can be tricky. I did my kitchen, but ended up contracting the...

    Lighting a 29 g frag tank

I think good bulbs (ATI or Korallen Zucht) on a decent ballast will be more than enough. Like Jeremy said, it is very easy to bleach your corals out with T5. People don't understand that these are not just power compacts or VHO. The light seems to penetrate deeper into the water than does metal...

    Lighting a 29 g frag tank

Bryan I think T5's all the way. You can get away with two, but four would give you max coverage. I've seen alot of people overdrive the bulbs, but what for? So you can change your bulbs out quicker. I ran 8 bulbs with NO single reflectors, crappy fixture, combo of current and geissman bulbs and...

    Denitrator Reactor

I have been seeing alot of tanks with denitrator reactors being used lately. How effective are they? Would they only be good for tanks with a high bioload?

? Running a calcium reactor and Kalk reactor together?

My big worry is the low pH of the effluent. What is the concept behind an additional chamber or effluent chamber?

    Kurplunks old and new tank

Thanks Ian. I let you know. The head model # is 7518-10 if that tells you anything. I'm guessing the size of tubing depends on how i want to push through? I was also thinking of maybe using my Kalk reactor as an effluent chamber or even modifying a phosban reactor.

? Running a calcium reactor and Kalk reactor together?

I plan on setting up my calcium reactor this weekend. I also have a kalk reactor on hand. Is there any point in running both? Or will it be to much?

    Kurplunks old and new tank

After talking to Ian yesterday I realized there is no way around setting up my Schuran without a good peristalic pump. So I ordered a Cole Parmer w/quick change head today so hopefully I can get that bad boy on line this weekend.
