Bigfish's swim into the sea - a tank journal

Are you leaving your plank pump on 24/7? I found that this is pretty critical to keep everything from getting gunked up in the cylinder. The mysis should fully rehydrate if you adjust things well. But having mixed foods like Derek said can prove problematic.

I've got all of those if you lose them.

Maybe leave lights off until the water clears? Clams probably are working overtime to eat all the funk in the water.

Bigfish's swim into the sea - a tank journal

Same, pellets are crazy dense compared to fluffy dried mysis. I did switch to more frequent, sub two minute feedings for the plank and dried mysis though since I noticed it takes a bit to rehydrate and less was sticking to the sides this way. Every food seems to behave differently in the plank...

    White marking on anthia

Probably bacterial then. Uronema looks more like a red sore that erupts later.

Is that a square spot anthias? Lol Is the wound white and fluffy @L/B Block ? Or is it more red?

    Help needed

We could always do a virtual tour on stream. But second @Coral reefer 's suggestion to start a tank journal and list your equipment and livestock. Otherwise from a distance it looks great! I think one secret for chaeto that some like is Chaetogrow ( @derek_SR knows more about using it).

Need a copperband that's eating prepared foods?

They cost more, but paying for a fish once that will live up to 10 years is much better than buying (and killing) a bunch. Or buying a bunch of berghia/peppermints that may or may not solve your problem. Plus they're gorgeous fish.

Crank up the lights for that clam! With that light, it might have hard time getting enough.

Free 3.5" undulated triggerfish - gone

It's basically the same thing as liquid bandage! Pretty good as long as you clean out the wound well prior.

    Thomas' CADE Reef 1500 S2

Update for December. A few changes: The blue throat fairy wrasse (Cirrhilabrus cyanogularis) was being a jerk so I caught him with the club Nyos trap fairly quickly: He now lives in @Srt4eric 's thunderdome. I added a tiny Halicoheres chrysus from Kenny to replace it: The tank is so much...

    Niger Trigger in a reef?

@CharlesJohns58 kept one (or more?) in the main South Pacific reef tank at the Waikiki aquarium mixed with all sorts of invertebrates and fish. He might know what they tend to go after vs. not.
