DBTC - Captive spawned A. millepora

Incredible! Echoing Thomas- Have any pictures to share? I don't want the pressure I would put on myself to keep one of these alive but really want to see them in others tanks. Maybe a frag a couple years down the road.

What CUC to get for my tank?

These urchins really helped out with my hair algae when the tank was new. It was crazy to see their tracks through the fields.

    Patio's IM 75 EXT

Picked up a nice little clown from Kenny at High Tide yesterday. The larger black and white clown was also from Kenny around the time he opened up shop. They paired quickly without any issues.

    Spawning events

last weekend I had something in the tank getting frisky, I assume. I caught the milky water and skimmer bubbling over but did not see who or what it came from. usually a couple of times a year but I never seem to catch it while it is happening and haven't a clue who the culprit is.

    Make your lights run cooler

Nice handy work. I wish I had more guts to tinker with stuff... I wonder why the engineers chose not to use thermal paste or tape in their design? You think to save on costs?

Does bare-bottom = less or no Cyanobacteria?

makes sense! Plus more flow down low, in my case, than my sandy tanks.

Does bare-bottom = less or no Cyanobacteria?

Since running bare bottom tanks the last 6ish years I have not observed Cyanobacteria in the tanks. Am I just lucky? Before running bare bottom, each tank had small patches of cyano come and go over the years. Curious to hear about others experiences with BB and cyano.

    SPS Encrustation thoughts

(haven't even smoked yet..) I have wondered if sps know they have a neighbor that wants to kill them before coming up with a plan of attack which could include encrust first build a large army then attack upward vs race to the sun to shade out nearby enemies? Could that also be a factor in...

    Auger aquarium feeder

spitballing (I have never used an auger but hear about moisture)- under the auger cover make a chamber to safely hold a rechargeable desiccant packet. Time to re-up and add food, microwave the moisture back out of the desiccant packet and place back in the chamber with the new food...

Bigfish's swim into the sea - a tank journal

I was thinking same as @iani start with all fresh. Otherwise you may learn after burning quickly through the DI resins that new carbon blocks and membranes were needed further up stream from the DI.
