Qckslvr and Mrs 90 gallon Oceanic tank build

Yeah you can try building a skimmer stand, but the recommended height is 6-6.5". That's the downside of the old AC pump skimmers. Tuning a skimmer can be one of the more annoying things with a new tank. That model is probably oversized for your tank too and might make it almost impossible to...

What CUC to get for my tank?

Tiger tails are generally not problematic, I'm pretty sure a lot of people in the club have kept them (or lost them) without issue. But if your pumps are anywhere they could reach, you should be careful since a strong Vortech etc. can destroy one.

What CUC to get for my tank?

Well if you don't rehome any, they'll end up being more shells for the hermits. For the tiger tails, keep in mind they reproduce by splitting, and they're mostly nocturnal. My copperband ate mine though. It also ate the snorkels off my nassarius snails and the antennae off the other snails.

Looks way more easy to deal with!

What CUC to get for my tank?

I usually add extra shells for hermits of different sizes to prevent death. Usually pretty easy to get them at your lfs from the ones that don't survive shipping. That's also probably too many nassarius snails unless you have a lot of messy eaters in the tank. You may need to feed them or they...

    Dealing with lyngbya

Fluconazole likely won't work from what I've read and experienced since it's not macroalgae, it's cyanobacteria. I tried to get some pictures but my glass isn't the cleanest: Again no holdfast really, comes off with a toothbrush.

My first Fish copper Qt treatment

Prime is good. Read the instructions on the badge, it's not just drop in, there's a couple things to keep track of.

    Dealing with lyngbya

For others since reefs.org seems to be down: https://web.archive.org/web/20220726232223/https://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum/old-vendor-posts/193280-any-questions-about-peroxide-dosing-dipping-1.html Assuming a stocked sps tank (that tolerate H2O2 poorly): Amounts are for 3% strength...

My first Fish copper Qt treatment

Ammo alert badges are helpful for QT too. Keep some amquel or water conditioner around too for emergencies.

My first Fish copper Qt treatment

Whenever someone offers me a "free fish" I know it comes with free diseases too. Gotta QT all fish unless they're coming directly from Kenny or Biota. I go a step further and have a fishless tank in the back for new corals. Also it would be a lot easier doing this in like a 40 breeder or two...

    Id my zoa

If you had a sensitivity experience that bad, you should get rid of all of them and avoid that coral family all together. Plenty of other nice corals to choose from!

    DBTC: Pink boobies chalice

For anyone thinking about this, it's really hard to get a true pink color that shows in both daylight and actinic. And it isn't that hard to keep vs. pink SPS. One of the reasons why @tribbitt 's tank looks good is because he uses contrasting colors and locations.

    Willie’s Last Aquarium Build

Kenny is pretty open with his success rate and it's very high compared to other individuals or businesses. Hence why he always has so many copperbands for sale.

Biota is having a fish sale. Blue tang 75 dollars.

Tbh I feel like you can get one as a PIF most of the time due to everyone not realizing their tank is under 200 gallons and rehoming it.

    Casey's Red Sea S-1000

Your tank during LARS still looks better than most of ours at peak attention. Do you think the fish got through small gaps or just the short times you have the lid off? I like @SupraSaltyReefer 's idea of having some acrylic or something plug the back gap. I honestly only ever fully getting...
