Not all Lanth is the same. If you are comparing, make sure you know you are comparing apples to apples. Or, my rule of thumb, start way way slow and then tweak based of what happens.

From the interactive knowledge base we are testing
what episodes does rich talk about how much lanthanium he uses
"Based on the sources and our conversation history, Rich discusses his use of lanthanum chloride and the amounts he uses primarily in episodes focusing on water chemistry...
Nope. I used to feed BBS and might again if I get motivated to do it, but I don't think live food is necessary. Some of that stuff is spendy.
I do use golden pearls and freeze dried rotis, and sometimes frozen rotis.
Thanks. I watched the talk. I am confused about what a hobbyist with home tests is supposed to calculate the ratio, and what ratio they are supposed to use for home tests.

I am going to do a section on lanth dosing next time we record. I agree about the skimmer and gfo! And the write up that started this thread is great!
I hate socks for lanth. They clog fast and you need to have active water flow, but not too fast or they will clog faster. This is why I started with the skimmer. I wouldn't trust pads or floss.
And my over all use of lanth, based on tanks from 50 gallons to 200000 gallons is do it automated...
